creative mending

When I found a small hole in the front pocket of my favourite coat, I didn't like it at all. Instead of just sewing it I searched the internet for some more creative ideas.
 I found this post about a usefull book and an idea for darning a sofa

The second one is post of my favorite artist  Karen Barbé  who has a tutorial about making handwoven 
patches

Karen also shows in another post how she saved her favorite dress.


And that is what I made at last to my pocket!

Now my coat has its own personality!

my creative space-rugs

Recently I made two rugs for a friend of mine. She chose the colors and I made them with my favorite technique,  inlay. I was very happy with the result.

 Every rug has almost 500(!) hearts- butterflies that I cut by hand (that's why I buy new scissors very often!).
Another lady ordered 4 rugs in the same colors but now I used the leftovers of the decorative weft to make the design.

Last Saturday I had the opportunity to visit the house of a client and I made photos of the rugs I have made for her.

 I like very much how they look like in a real house!
